Some frequently used features were not implemented so far and we had the feeling that we should do this as soon as possible. So we took another 2 months to add the following features:

  • Charts in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Word Arts in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Tables in PowerPoint
  • Macros in Excel and PowerPoint (they already worked for Word)

The really curious thing is that it is much easier to convert a chart in Word or PowerPoint than in Excel (charts in PowerPoint and Word are basically realized as OLE objects). Excel charts however have been by far the most complex feature being added in this release. That’s why we focused on the most important chart features first and will add support for more advanced features in the future. The current version supports the translation of all Excel chart types from simple types such as bar and pie charts to more advanced charts such as radar and surface charts. Even complex charts combined of different chart types such as line and bar chart are supported. Additional features such as axis and data labels, custom markers, 3D effects and more have not yet been implemented.

As always, we are looking forward to your feedback which you can submit as a comment here or via the forums and bug trackers on our SourceForge project site.
